Stopped for breakfast and had a wonderful surprise, the staff was very friendly and the food was very good, the girl at the front bar area was friendly, I believe her name was Karen, asked a few very probing questions about something inegmaticly inappropriate for such an environmentally sensitive situation, while I'm trying to eat, otherwise was a very entertaining interaction. And would go back, armed with the information affirming my apprehension entering the restaurant the initial time.

Not from around here. Googled.places.to eat. Very happy we found this place was an excellent experience.

Laverne's is a small diner setting and certainly offers a good value. The restaurant does not do fancy and that is okay. It is a simple plain and straight forward dining experience. The service is always pleasant. The tables, counters and rest rooms are kept clean. Over the years we have dined at Laverne's many times and will continue to do so.

Laverne's Restaurant, the perfect stop for homestyle cooking, and great desserts. Located snugly between Waynesburg and Jefferson, on Pennsylvania Route 188, very near the intersection with state route 221. Easy access from the Ruff Creek exit (exit 19) of Interstate 79 makes this place convenient to areas like Washington, as well. A fairly large restaurant with plenty of seating, including a counter for the quick bite. The decor is a little dated, but I think that just adds to the charm of the establishment. It is, however, incredibly clean and well maintained. An excellent place to take the kids, as the family friendly atmosphere almost makes you feel like you're in Grandma's dining room. My family has been eating here for decades, and I've never had a bad experience. The food is always fresh, hot, and delivered with a smile, with plenty of options on the menu to please even the pickiest of eaters. This visit was for Thanksgiving dinner, and everything was delicious. Pies are baked fresh daily, and boy do they sell them. My personal favorite for dessert is the apple dumplings with ice cream. The dumpling is served hot and the ice cream slowly melts as you nibble. Also, some of the best coffee I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. For friendly service, excellent food and very fair prices, make the trip to Laverne's. It's worth the drive from anywhere in Washington, Green and Fayette counties. Go check it out, you'll be glad you did!

Price of a meal is very reasonable. My first time there. Had breakfast eggs bacon toast. Bacon could have been cooked more. Waitress acknowledged some arriving customers as "regulars". Parking in front limited more parking in the rear. Waitress friendly, service good.

I Stopped in to Lavern's recently for one of their daily specials; Salmon Patties, mac & cheese, vegetable, with a dinner roll. Dessert consisted of a slice of cherry pie, along with their best seller, the apple dumpling. The entire meal was delicious! ...But that apple dumpling was out of this world, good! if you end up at Lavern's like I did, and you're not sure what to have for dessert, YOU HAVE to try the apple dumpling! You won't be disappointed! Service was great, too! Thanks Mindy and thank you Lavern's for an excellent meal.

Just a down home, diner style restaurant with no grills. Usually 5 daily specials all under 10.00. Food is fast, hot, and a really good value. The servers are extremely friendly, fun, fast, and quick with knowledge and options. All plates can be customized to your liking. We visit at least 3 times a week for the specials, and get take out also.
